We almost had a potential disaster this morning I get up around five make coffee and let the chickens out. I went to check on the pigs. I could only count 7 of the KK piglets,I did a desperate hunt in the straw; I couldnt find it. I found it outside huddle around the back of the ark it was freezing. I took it inside woke Fiona (at 5:30am was a dangerous thing to do) and we sat it on a hot water bottle covered with a towel and spent the next 4 hrs raising its temperature. It was so stiff and unresponsive I thought we would loose it. I didnt have any sow replacement milk so an internet search revealed goats milk would do. Where do you get goats milk at 6 am Sunday morning? nowhere. My last stop was the filling station at Tescos, Wisbech. I told the story to staff and one of them went over to the main store which was shut and got me a bottle. Between reheating the piglet and the warm milk kindly supplied by Tescos the piglet was revived and is now back with its mum SARAH I will be keeping an eye on it for the rest of the day.

Our thanks to the staff at Tescos

The good weather has brought the piglets out and they are running all over the place , in and out of their dads pen and the GOS pen neither seem bothered by them. I was worried they might harm them but not now

One of my GOS has just had 2 piglets! I know 2 why bother and this was a result of a liason with Colin the Kune Kune boar. To top it all she sat on one and killed it. Now she has let 4 of the KK piglets in and started feeding them. I cant stop them they run through or destroy and fence I put up! Try to stop them or persivere?

These piglets have jumped ship and opted for a bigger dairy. They are growing faster on the GOS milk. a noticable difference from the ones that stayed with "Sarah"
